0.21.2 RELEASE NOTES

Fizlet 0.21.2

By Chris Cooley ↗ · · CHANGELOG.md ↗

  • 0.21.2 — first npm release, published as @fzlt/core (npm refused fizlet and fzlt as too similar to existing names). Same library code as 0.21.0. Install with npm i @fzlt/core; imports are "@fzlt/core" and "@fzlt/core/<brick>" (README, docs, site, examples, gallery, size labels, API snapshots and the package tests updated). The project, repo, site and brand stay Fizlet.
  • Layers story: it holds the scroll like every other demo frame, plays on its own, and scrolling over it fans the layers. A wheel or a vertical swipe over the figure steps the story (down fans the layers out, up folds them back) instead of moving the page, and the site's scroll-lock note turns the frame red and says why. It used to follow the page's scroll and never hold it, so a scroll over it moved the page. It now autoplays (three loops while on screen, then it rests on the game frame and settles) with the kit's play/pause key, and a cue under the stack says "Scroll me to fan the layers" ("Swipe…" on touch) until it is used. The standalone layers page loads the note's own chunk (hint.js) with the scene. Reduced motion: no lock, no controls, the still exploded view. Measured (Chromium 153, 4× CPU throttle, one loop): live chunk 7,787 → 8,060 B gzip (budget 9,728), inline 3,438 → 4,057 B (budget 6 KB), script per frame 1.2 ms median, 3.3 ms p95; CLS 0; 0 frames paused.
